1. Who we are
This website, theoverlap.life, is operated by Overlap Brands LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), 1513 Luke St., Fort Collins, CO 80524. The Overlap Life is the name we publish under.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you are telling us you have the authority to accept these terms for it.
3. What we offer here
- Free material: articles, videos, the prayer journal, the quiz, and other resources we give away.
- A paid digital product: The Overlap Life book, sold with the audiobook and the “Design & Destiny” Life Change Guide.
- A way to support the work with a gift.
We may add things, change things, or take things down at any time.
4. Buying the book
The price is shown on the checkout page before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your card details go to Stripe rather than to us. We never see or store your full card number.
The book is delivered digitally, by email, to the address you give at checkout. If it does not arrive, use the contact form and we will get it to you.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy: thirty days, asked for through the contact form.
What you buy is a license to read, listen to, and use the material yourself. It is not permission to resell it, publish it, or hand out copies.
5. Gifts and support
Gifts are voluntary and they fund the free material.
Overlap Brands LLC is not a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Contributions or gifts to The Overlap Life are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. We say this plainly because we would rather you know it before you give than find out at tax time.
Gifts are used to make and publish the work: the videos, the writing, the free resources, and the cost of running all of it.
You can stop a repeating gift at any time by writing to us. Refunds on gifts are covered by the Refund Policy.
6. Emails
If you give us your email address, we may send you the resource you asked for and other material about the work. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and using it stops the email. You can also write to us and ask to be removed.
7. Using the site
Please do not:
- break the law with it, or use it to harm somebody
- try to break into it, overload it, or get at parts of it that are not public
- scrape it, copy it wholesale, or use it to train a model without our written permission
- pretend to be us, or pretend one of your pages is one of ours
We can suspend access if any of that happens.
8. Anything you send us
When you send us a message through a form, you keep ownership of what you wrote. You are giving us permission to read it, keep it, and reply to it. Please do not send anything confidential, and please do not send material you do not have the right to share.
9. Our material, and using it
Everything here that we made is ours: the book, the training material, the videos, the audio, the writing, the artwork, and the design. It is protected by copyright.
You may quote us briefly with attribution, link to anything on this site, and share the free resources with people as they are.
You may not republish our material as your own, sell it, or put it behind your own paywall. To ask about anything beyond brief quotation, including using a video with a class or a group, use the contact form and ask. We are usually glad to say yes.
10. Other people’s sites and services
We link out to other places, and some of what we use is run by other companies, including YouTube, Skool, Stripe, and our email and customer system. We do not control those services, we are not responsible for them, and their terms and privacy policies apply when you are on them.
11. This is teaching, not professional advice
What we publish is Bible teaching and encouragement. It is not legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice, and it is not counseling or therapy. If you need professional help, please go to a professional in your area. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services.
Everything we teach is our reading of the biblical text. Read it, weigh it, and check it against Scripture yourself.
12. No guarantees
We do the work carefully, and we still cannot promise the site will always be available, always be error free, or always be current. The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether stated or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows.
We make no promises about results. What you do with what you learn is yours.
13. Limit on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Overlap Brands LLC and anyone working with us are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising out of your use of this site or anything you got from it.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater.
Some states do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Covering us
If your use of the site causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and legal fees that come from it, so far as the law allows.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
16. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Larimer County, Colorado, and you agree to that.
17. The rest of it
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce something right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and the DMCA Policy, are the whole agreement between us about this site.
