Who we are
The Overlap Life, operated by Overlap Brands LLC, 1513 Luke St., Fort Collins, CO 80524. Our website address is: theoverlap.life.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
Comments are left via a request form. You are responsible for the content you enter.
Contact forms
We use contact forms to allow our customers and readers to easily send us information if they choose to do so. Visitors to the website must consent to their information being captured to successfully send communication to The Overlap Life via the forms on this website.
Email newsletter
The Overlap Life sends an email newsletter to people who sign up on this website. We use a double opt-in process, so you only receive email after you click to confirm your subscription, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. We manage our list with our own self-hosted software (Listmonk), we automatically remove addresses that bounce or report spam, and we never sell, rent, or share your email address.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
Your data will not be shared outside of our organization without prior, written or electronic consent.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Your contact information
If you have questions or comments about this policy, you may email us at [email protected].
How we protect your data
This site is a set of static pages served from Cloudflare’s network, so there is no login, no comment system, and no database on the website itself to break into. Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS everywhere.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers are entered in Stripe’s own hosted fields and never reach our servers, and we never see or store them.
The details you type into a form on this site (your name, your email, and anything you write to us) are sent over an encrypted connection to our own small support service, which passes them to our customer record system. Access to those systems is limited to Tim and is protected by two-factor authentication.
